Follow up on Witch Hunt Post

I mentioned that Lowes Hardware withdrew support for a specific TV show  about a Muslim family. The context of that blog was that the boogie man of our decade is the terrorist. Most terrorists of recent times have been identified as Muslim but terrorism has been part of the human condition for centuries and many people have been 'terrorists".
President Obama is being pressured to sign a law whereby the US Military will be authorized to apprehend and hold WITHOUT a civil trial anyone anywhere they deem to be a terrorist. This authority is extra territorial and any one of us could be considered to be a terrorist by the US authorities, apprehended, subject to rendition to a third country, jailed and probably tortured without recourse.
In centuries gone by authorities, primarily religious, considered witches to be the boogie men and women du jour, This included religious heretics and anyone could be tortured and burned as a heretic. It seems to me the US Government has resurrected the old ways. Remember, there is no civil trial or proof of guilt required, just a suspicion that an individual is a terrorist to be jailed for life.
It won't just be Muslims who are caught in this web.

Links to old stories

A few years ago I was a prolific budding author.

Many have been posted on the web but links to them are obscure. Maybe new readers will be interested to see them.
Here are the links.
I'll add more links later.
I hope you read one or more of these. Full Circle is quite long, almost a novel.
My follower Bernie of Bernies Blazon think a story called The Box is very good.

Witch Hunt

This will be a short posting intended to start a train of thought. We note that Lowes Hardware in the US is pulling support for a TV show showing Muslim family life. I've never seen this show so cannot comment on its content. However, along with related hysteria and new laws proposed by Congress aimed at controlling or limiting the rights of groups considered to be terrorists who these days are largely thought to be Muslims I am wondering if we are not reliving the witch hunts of centuries gone by. Every age needs, it seems, a bogey man and  Muslims have inherited the mantle.
Lets think about it. Muslim witch burning? Now there's a project to divert public attention from what really matters..
