Sunni Muslims vs Shia Muslims

The Middle East is a mess of wars, repression and fear. The two main Islamic sects, Sunni and Shia, are in conflict. The Sunni sect is financed by the Saudis and the Shia sect is supported by Iran. The actual fighting is in Syria. It is spilling into Iraq with Al Qaeda fighting against the Shia majority. Al Qaeda is an arm of the Saudis, the same group that caused 9/11 and fought with the Taliban in Afghanistan killing American, Canadian and many other Western soldiers and civilians.

Historically Islam has sought to expand to Europe and actually controlled most of Spain for many centuries. My friend Bernie McCann wrote a blog (bennieblazon.blogspot.ca) commenting how Islamic terrorists are transforming England. I added a comment to his blog which said in part “Western values such as freedom of expression and to practice any religion are the Achilles heel that will allow Islam to eventually dominate Europe and the Americas. It would have happened centuries ago except the Christian Kings of Europe drove the Moors (Muslims) out of Spain in 1300 and at the victorious end of the Siege of Vienna when the armies of Poland, Austria and Germany led by Jan Sobeiski on September 12, 1683 defeated the Muslim forces. These events set the Muslim advance on Europe back for hundreds of years until now.

The current assault on Europe and America is largely driven by extremists financed by the (Sunni) Wahhbis in Saudi Arabia. Osama bin Laden was a member of the Saudi Royal Family when he created Al Qaeda. The Wahhabis take western money for oil and turn it back on western society by building mosques and supporting radicals who immigrate to Britain and North America. They form a Fifth Column of small groups determined to destabilize the larger society.”

A Toronto Sun columnist, Tarek Fatah, wrote “The solution is to be standfast in defending our liberal, secular values and refuse to give an inch to accommodate medieval concepts of Islamic supremacy, couched as religious freedom.” He goes on to say in part “Our politicians and corporate leaders may have no spine to stand up against Islamofascsism ***”.

The Muslim population in Canada is growing and taking leadership roles in society. They are a positive force but as in any society there are bad apples who are the ones the terrorists recruit to further the aims of our overseas enemies. We are in a modern form of the “siege of Vienna” when the Caliphate led the armies of Islam against Europe.

  1. Do you imagine that the present immigration and deportation laws are sufficient to stem the unwanted influx of Islamic fundamentalists, or is it a weakness on the part of our government to enact the laws?
