A once in a lifetime Monday!
Like VE Day, the fall of the Berlin Wall and 7/11 things changed in the world on one day. Maybe not in the whole world but for certain in Canada as the long election campaign ended with a dynamic change in the government.
The people rejected the dark reign of Prime Minister Harper who inflicted a government of secrecy, fear and division on the people. In his pitch for reelection he offered more of the same and even deeper control of the tools for social progress and democracy in Canada. He offered no vision or hope for a better life for all people including First Nations, immigrants, 'Old Stock' Canadians and anyone who was not favourable to his policies.
The new government led by Justin Trudeau, strangely the son of one of the most autocratic Prime Ministers in our history, offered a vision of hope for the future. He seems to be a lively, enthusiastic man who has since proclaimed his intent to implement his promises made during the campaign.
Will it happen? No doubt the corporate elite will seek to undermine changes they perceive will impinge their bottom lines. Oil and coal producers are among them and US and International corporations will not like some promises and employ expensive lobbyists to influence issues in their favour. Business leaders are accused of fashioning a new world order where national governments are subservient to the will of a few huge corporations. Trading partnerships like TPP, NAFTA and others put more power in the corporate realm where a national or local government is restrained from policies that are good for its people as opposed to the profits of a foreign organization. Big pharma is an example of such a sector. Lets add the brewing industry in this context.
Canada could be on the brink of an even better future just like America when Obama was elected. Obama was prevented from fulfilling his mission. Let's hope Trudeau and Canada does not suffer the same fate.

The Dark Side of the Refugee Problem
The refugee crisis in Europe is another great tragedy of
this decade. We see pictures of bodies in the water, hordes of people pushing through police barriers
demanding to be cared for by strangers and housed in European countries. The
civil war in Syria has been a disaster for Syrian people and seems to have no
end now that ISIS has taken over much of the country and the Russians are
supporting Assad in his murderous activities. The Americans are largely
responsible of the situation in Iraq and Afghanistan and Canada helped to drive
Libya into anarchy. What a mess.
It is interesting to note that the Muslim Gulf States (Saudi
Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE) are not taking any part in relieving the
refugee crisis. Why not, they are rich countries, have the same religion and
lots of land. Jordan has done all it can for them and Turkey is taking many but
seems to be shunting them through to Greece and Europe.
The last time there was a mass invasion of Muslims into
Europe was in 1683 when the Ottoman Turks sent a vast army to conquer Europe.
They were stopped at Vienna when the combined armies of Austria, Poland,
Germany and other European countries fought and defeated them. Otherwise Europe
would be part of Islam today and western civilization would have withered under
the dictate of the Ottoman Mufti and Sharia. Islam was once a highly cultured
and advanced society but that culture stultified and has not advanced for nearly
a century.
I have a dark question. What is happening to drive so many
people from Muslim countries into Europe now? They are coming in numbers
greater than those in the army of the Grand Vizier Mustafa Pasha who commanded
the Turkish Armies in 1683. This time women and children are the invaders and cannot
be stopped by force. Most great events in this world are not accidents, there
is always cause and effect. Why, suddenly in the summer of 2015, are Muslim hordes
descending on Europe? Is there a master plan? Without prejudice, just think
about it.

My newest work of fiction has been published by Club Lighthouse Publishing. Now is you chance to down load a first edition either digitally or order a hard copy. It is a story of danger and intrigue in on of the most dangerous areas in the world today involving Britain, Russia and America in a high stakes game to control the oil and gas riches of Rajikistan. Oh, it is a fictional country but could be real.
