American Jihad
Hamza bin Laden, son of Osama bin Laden, has sworn revenge for the death of his father. He is said to be combining Al Quaeda and the jihadist Islamic State to do so.
How might he get revenge on America and who in the Middle East might help him? There are enemies in abundance in the Islamic world which while professing friendship for America will enjoy seeing her suffer.
This new novel describes one way it might be done. Set in the near future it is a faced paced account of an attack on the Homeland by dedicated suicidal jihadists. Without telling the whole story a short overview follows. The book is available as an ebook or printed version at Club Lighthouse Publishing.
It is also available on Amazon for Kindle and other readers.
And NOW, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls;
It’s May 2019 and the US Coast Guard Ship ‘Hammerhead’ has been hijacked by Jihadists. After murdering its crew the ‘Hammerhead’ is used to land a party of Islamic State killers from an Indonesian freighter onto a deserted beach in Virginia where collaborators take them to mosques in nearby cities. The Jihadists have come from Libya to carry out terrorist attacks on soft targets in many American cities. Their initial assaults result in a terrible death toll throwing the nation into a panic. Fearful Americans and groups of citizens become vigilantes blindly killing anyone who looks like a Muslim, a foreigner or is different.
The US Government is caught unaware and quickly dedicates all available resources to stop the terrorists going so far as attempting to round up all recently landed Muslims. Homeland Security activates a task force of FBI, CIA, NSA agents and other resources to identify and apprehend the terrorists. As the hour's tick by and attacks continue the situation becomes increasingly critical
The story focusses on FBI Agent Jeffrey Close and CIA Operative Patricia Holmes who assume critical roles in the search. The Jihadists have been well-prepared, are supported by activists’ already in America and follow a plan directed by an unknown organisation. As with most complex plans, one element fails and by luck one of the killers is taken alive. Agent Close and other Agents extract a lead from the prisoner resulting in the capture of another cell preparing to hit a target. Meanwhile, Operative Holmes, searching government databases, discovers that hundreds of Islamic State fighters have been admitted into America as sleeper suicide bombers.
Captured jihadists are quickly secured in Guantanamo Cuba where they are encouraged to talk. Agents Close, Holmes and others direct the initial interrogation where they learn the names of more sleepers but not their carefully hidden command structure. Terrorist attacks continue and confidence in the federal government to protect the nation weakens to the extent several states threaten to succeed from the union. Media outlets stoke the terror using talk shows and repeated news footage to boost ratings.
TV interviews and news reporting explain the motivation of Islamic State in their suicidal attack on homeland America. The crisis in the White House continues as the President and the National Security Council try to calm the American people.
Close, Holmes and many FBI Agents work to follow up leads. Eventually, a citizen’s report becomes the first big break. Prisoners are taken and interrogation in Guantanamo provides critical information about the management of the attacks and the communication process. One cell is instructed to attack a state capital and slaughter elected Senators and Representatives. Close, Holmes and senior FBI authorities must prevent the attack and capture the terrorists without causing panic. Spoiler alert, they succeed.
Learning that the terrorist attacks were planned and coordinated by Middle Eastern governments is devastating. The President and the National Security Council must restore peace and order in the homeland and determine a political and military response to the powers that planned and financed it. The truth that there are no ‘friendly’ Islamic powers in the Middle East is difficult to accept and the action taken against one power will strengthen others. The decision will affect the world.
